    I went through the same hassle, even after I explained to them I'm not eligible for reasons I don't want to go into here. But still went through the process and a month later they didn't use me anyway. Couldn't even use my get out of jail free card.

    @Trollboy In California I was always able to use the "I don't make enough money" excuse to get out of jury duty. Out here, they don't play that game. I'm just hoping to get released from duty again. That would be sweet.

    They don't know you received their letter, which
    is an invitation only, because they can't conscript
    you. Involuntary servitude is illegal. Others'
    right to a jury doesn't obligate you.
